Bryan Stott

As a child, I moved homes quite often. I have lived in Ajax, St.Thomas, Toronto, Markham and finally Stouffville. I have seen many towns grow into cities and many towns not expand nor grow. I have seen what works and what doesn’t and can apply these lessons as Councillor of Ward 6.

Growing up, I spent many hours discussing politics and world with my father. It is during these times that I forged a passion for politics and helping people resolve problems. This has followed me through the course of my career. I always look for a resolution to a challenge and incorporate this into my professional and personal life.

I have lived in Whitchurch-Stouffville with my wife Elizabeth and 3 children Cheyenne, Linkin and Cruz for the past 3 years. During this time I have grown to love the community and all it has to offer. Stouffville has a mix of new and established residents, young families, and a growing 55 plus community.

Our family decided to make Stouffville home for many reasons. The small town feel and its proximity to both rural and urban centers. This has created a diverse experience in which our children can attend farmers markets and local fairs, and in the same day visit downtown Toronto.

Much of our extended family and friends have made Stouffville home and we feel as though we have lived here forever. We simply love it.

Both Elizabeth and I are in our early 30’s. We both work and are facing the same challenges as many other Ward 6 residents. Our parents are nearing retirement and I understand the challenges and worries this group of people face. The 55 plus residents are the community leaders, the ones who made Stouffville the place we call home and we must show respect to their achievements as Stouffville transforms into a true world class city.

In my career, I work to administer a consumer protection legislation that has taught me the importance of defending people in need while balancing it with the law and legislation. It is important to have a steady hand and reasonable plan when making decisions. This is how I conduct both my personal and work life.

I have always been a person who sees a problem and looks for a solution. I believe with a little hard work, dedication, and support any problem can be solved.

This has led me to get involved in this year’s municipal election. Although I have only lived in Stouffville for 3 years, similar to many other Ward 6 residents, I believe my plan will make Stouffville grow in a reasonable, respectful manner considerate of all residents new and established, young and 55 plus.

I look forward to representing the diverse residents of Ward 6.
