Why I am Running Now

Stouffville is growing at an extraordinarily high rate and will continue to do so for years to come. We need to build community as well as houses. I offer strong leadership and have the time to properly devote to this complex and challenging role.

What do you consider the most important issues facing the town?

We need to increase local employment, protect the environment and provide new and existing services and programs to a growing population while being fiscally responsible and keeping taxes close to their current levels. This will take strong, creative leadership.

What are your priorities for the next four years?

  • Communicate with residents through social media, regular newsletters and an annual Ward 4 Town Hall
  • Increase employment opportunities, especially by attracting knowledge based businesses and not-for-profit organizations
  • Protect the Oak Ridges Moraine
  • Increase library funding up to provincial standards and build a new facility to reflect increased usage by residents
  • Implement standards so that new development will enhance our town and reflect our heritage and culture • Strong positive action for Climate Protection
  • Sidewalks for children to ensure safe passage when walking to school along Elm and Glad Park

Brief Bio

My wife and I moved to Stouffville’s Ward 4 fifteen years ago, and since day one I have had a strong community service focus. My community service focus has included founding Stouffville’s WhiStle Radio, Cub Scout Leader, member of the Recycling Depot Board, and member of the Town Environmental Advisory Committee. Over the years I have organized numerous concerts, including the benefits for ArtsCan Circle.

On October 27 elect Jim Priebe, Ward 4 Councillor.
