LEADERSHIP WITH VISION

Mark Witte, candidate for Whitchurch-Stouffville's Ward 4, says he's the man with the tools to get the job done. The owner and operator of Canadian Home Pro, single father and community organizer brings ample business management experience to the table, as well as a passion for local politics. Since relocating himself and his business to Whitchurch-Stouffville, Witte has been working to develop a local Police Athletic/Activities League (PAL), and is currently working towards launching Four Seasons Connect, a program connecting local seniors and youth.

These community organizations reflect Witte's devotion to the safety and well-being of Whitchurch-Stouffville's children and elderly populations. "Some of the elders have been here for 5 generations - they're smart, they've seen it all, and they're my neighbours" Witte said while lending a hand to local seniors following the recent ice storm. A single father, Witte is also passionate about the safety and bright future of local children, with whom he has been involved through the development of both organizations. PAL will help to provide youth with civic, athletic, recreational and educational opportunities, and operates under the principle that "it's better to build youth than mend adults". Witte's upcoming Four Seasons Connect program will bring together youth and seniors for household maintenance and yard work, allowing seniors to live independently without being preyed upon by over-priced contractors.

Before his 24 year career operating Canadian Home Pro (a BBB accredited renovation and building company), Witte's management career focused on operations and marketing and spanned 17 years, during which he sat as President of the Yonge & Bloor Business Association. His recent turn to politics is something he says he's been looking forward to for years.

"It's always been important to me to see people getting involved with their community. Put down the iPads and the cellphones, get off the internet and come out to meet your neighbours. That's why connecting youth and seniors in our neighbourhoods is such a high priority for me. What's missing from Whitch_ _ch-Stouffville?" he asks.
