Mike is thrilled and honoured to be running for the Ward 5 council position. His commitment to family and community has solid roots. Mike has proudly made Stouffville his home for over 25 years. Mike and wife Lorraine have been married for 28 years and along with their two daughters, Jacklyn and Courtney, have strong ties to the community and great memories that will last a lifetime. Mike understands the challenges life can bring and the need for communities to support their constituents by offering facilities, services and organizations that make a difference. "Family has always been a focus in our lives and we include the community of Stouffville as a part of our extended family."

Mike's career was influenced by community. It was through helping a neighbour he found a mentor, his first part-time job and ultimately his career. Thirty-five years later it is still going strong. For the past 30+ years Mike has supported numerous charities and organizations. He has been involved with; Big Sisters of York, Community Hockey, Canadian Cancer Society, Stouffville Spirit, Whistle Radio, Bereaved Families - York Region, Stouffville's Mayor's Golf Committee and the "Kids First Fund". Mike has coached, managed, sponsored, and donated many hours of his time with a variety of sports teams. He is also the Founder of "Sports History" for Stouffville which historically dates back to 1888. Mike's fundraising experience, coupled with his many years of sponsorships is impressive. Mike has the patience, drive, passion and commitment required to ensure Ward 5 is represented well and he looks forward to earning your support.

Mike's vision for Ward 5 is to be an active member of council, to listen and communicate with the constituents of his ward and the town as a whole. His strengths have always been to listen to all sides of a concern and to negotiate towards the optimal solution.

Mike's approachability is well known throughout the community and he will go out of his way to help. He is well versed in social media and makes himself accessible 24/7. He will work hard for you and will try and resolve all issues as best as he can. Mike is a very active member of this community and has spent many hours through different venues helping others. His passion has always been with the youth of this town. Mike's vision is to continue to work with our youth and encourage self confidence and focus on their future. He will do his utmost to help in Ward 5 as a whole to make it a place we can all feel at home.
