I am running for Stouffville Council Ward 4 because I believe that now more than ever before Whitchurch-Stouffville needs strong, capable leadership with years of business and corporate experience and vision to get things done for you. Those of you who already know me know that I am someone who believes in working with others and a person that gets things done.

I am very active in the community. I am Director on the Chamber of Commerce, Director and coach on the Whitchurch-Stouffville Softball Association, Co-Founder and organizer Stouffville Home and Lifestyle Show, President of Stouffville Imperial Networking group, as well as volunteering with the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Santa Clause Parade and Neighbourhood Watch.

You have to choose one who you believe will be the best candidate to represent you, the needs of our community, and the best interest of our town. It will require someone who is a part of the community and that lives in Ward 4, and is responsible and trustworthy, someone capable of raising important issues on behalf of residents, and someone who can balance budgets at Town Hall to provide residents the best value for both short-term and long-term financial planning.

The person you vote should have previous business and corporate experience, as this is not a trainee position. This person will have a strong influence on direction of Stouffville for the next 4 years.

I have more than 30 years of invaluable corporate and business experience. You can count on me to help manage Stouffville’s $70 million annual operating budget effectively and efficiently

• I will continue to develop and promote our employment lands, business condos in Ward 4, and warehousing and manufacturing in Gormley. We’ll create local jobs and relieve our tax base which presently is 88% residential, 12% businesses. We need it to be 75% – 25%.
• I will manage our tax dollars so we can afford the services our community needs today and long into the future, such as the library and leisure centre complex expansion.
• I will build safe and healthy neighborhoods by adding more youth-oriented programs and attractions in our town
• I will commit to an engaged government that is accessible, accountable and transparent. 
• I will increase participation of constituents on important issues by consulting, listening and acting on behalf of all residents.
• I will put the infrastructure in place to sustain our future growth while protecting Stouffville’s small town character.
• I will work diligently towards a $28m Library and Leisure Center expansion. Our library must be expanded to fulfill the needs of Whitchurch – Stouffville’s growing population. There is no question that we need facilities for the 55+ age group and youth of Stouffville.
• I will support the need for affordable housing (condos & apartments) – for new families, divorced single parent or young people wanting to live on their own
• I will support traffic-calming initiatives for the residents of Whitchurch-Stouffville (i.e. Hoover Park & Mostar).
• I will organize community town hall meetings and increase consultation and participation on important issues that will affect Ward 4 residents
• I will be a strong voice working for families, youth and seniors to achieve affordable taxes.

I will increase funding for Arts & Cultural, as less than 1% of the Stouffville Budget is for allocated for its development and expansion.

On Monday, October 27, the residents of Whitchurch-Stouffville will have the opportunity to make a very important decision that will impact our community for the next four years.
