Stouffville is entering a very critical time in its growth and development. That is why I am seeking a fourth term as Councillor for Ward 6 because I have both the municipal experience and the management & leadership skills to ensure that the town will stay on the right track over the next four years.

Stouffville is the second fastest growing Town in all of Canada.  From 2006 to 2011 the Town’s population grew 100% from 21,000 to 40,000.  Annual Town budgets have grown from $19 million to $60 million. We now have a work force of over 400 full time and part time employees. 

With this growth come opportunities and challenges. I have lived in Ward 6 for over 28 years and I have experienced first-hand the growth from a small town to now a leading global community.  Stouffville is the best community in all of York Region with the lowest taxes and leading edge recreational facilities; Clipper Complex, Soccer City, Latcham Hall, New Fire Hall, Skate Park and 19 on the Park.

In the next four years we will be expanding these facilities with the build-out of the Memorial Park master plan. This will involve the largest capital expenditure in the history of the town. The $30 million expansion of the Lebovic Centre will bring a new Library, Gymnasium, Seniors Facility and a new Indoor Pool.  In addition to these new facilities, the town will add an additional 4,000 homes in phase three of the residential build-out.

My three terms as councillor of Ward 6 have given me the experience to manage all of these large projects.  Over the next 5 weeks all voters in Stouffville, will have a very important job to do.  You are the Human Resource Managers for the town of Stouffville.  It will be up to you to hire the next board of Directors that will run this $60+ million dollar a year corporation, the town of Stouffville.

The first thing you should do is look at the resumes. The websites of candidates are their resume. From the website you will find their management, business and leadership qualities.  You will be able to determine their level of competency to do the job that you will be hiring them for.

Here are a few of the high-lights on my resume after 11 years of being a councillor:

1. 100 million dollars of capital projects that include: New Town Office, Clippers Double Rinks, New Fire Hall, New Operation Centre, Bethesda Park playing fields, Soccer City, New Skate Park.  The build out of 19 new parks, with four state of the art water parks.
2. One of the lowest property taxes within the GTA. Out of 27 municipalities Stouffville ranks 6th lowest. 
3. Secure a satellite police station in the town offices that gives Stouffville 24/7 police coverage. 
4. $38 million dollars in capital reserves, the highest in town’s history.
5. Worked with York Regional Police to secure stop signs and crossing guards at key intersections in Ward 6. 
6. Approved in council the expansion of the Library & Lebovic Center, that will contain a senior centre, new indoor pool and expanded Library. 

What does this all add up to? My fulltime commitment in working to deliver to all Ward 6 and town residents an efficient and well managed ward and town. We live in the best town in all of York Region.
