What does green building mean to you and what role do you think the York Regional council should play in developing more sustainable communities? Are you in favour of the purchase of the Cook Canada building or would you prefer to cancel that purchase? If elected what specifically would you do to promote and develop arts and culture throughout the town? How will you involve teenagers in giving a say in what happens for youth in the community? In light of the excess space our new municipal office building will have, would you use some of that space to provide for a local food bank that would be accessible by public transit? This question concerns a matter which has federal implications, but will likely affect Stouffville and Stouffville needs to be involved now. What are you doing to oppose the proposed Pickering Airport? We are not a very "smart" town according to the Maclean's "2010" smart rankings. In 2008 our per capita library spending was 24% below the provincial average. Other Ontario towns our size have sattelite college or university campuses, but we don't. Smart towns attract smart industries. What is your vision for becoming a "smarter" town? |
Ward 1 Ward 2 Ward 3 Ward 4 Ward 5 What are the three major issues you feel Stouffville will face in the next four years and what is your stance regarding these issues? Ward 6: Many of the new traffic lights in town seem to favour cars over pedestrians, requiring walkers to push buttons they may not realize are there. How would you address this issue? |
